Netflix buys Rihanna-Lupita N’yongo Scammer Movie Concept


What started as a Twitter fantasy about stars Rihanna and Lupita N’yongo, led to ‘aggressive negotiations’ at the Cannes Film Festival, as described by Entertainment Weekly.

The movie concept, reportedly purchased by Netflix, will feature the Oscar Award-winning actress and Grammy Award-winning international recording artist. In a buddy movie concept, Rihanna scams rich white men while N’yongo is the mastermind who orchestrates the heist. The film is slated to be directed by ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ director Ava DuVernay & screen written by Insecure star Issa Rae.

It began back in April when a Twitter user tweeted the duo at a 2014 Miu Miu fashion show:

Production is slated to begin in 2018 after DuVernay wraps up Wrinkle in Time and the original Twitter user will be credited and have a hand in the film.
