HerSTORY Made: Viola Davis Becomes First Actor to win Tony, Emmy, & Oscar

Viola Davis has grown as an actress right before our eyes. We acknowledge her imfamy as an television actress in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, & How To Get Away With Murder, and in films such as Antwone Fisher, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, & The Help.
Sunday evening, Davis finally received her well-deserved win for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance as Rose Maxwell in the adapted screenplay, Fences. 

Denzel Washington, opposite of Davis, was nominated for his portrayal of Troy Maxwell for the Best Actor in a Leading Role. Casey Affleck won for Manchester by the Sea. Washington has worked with Davis on Fences since it was featured on Broadway.

“O captain, my captain… Thank you for putting two entities in the driver’s seat — August and God. They served you well.”, she said to Denzel as she accepted her award, before thanking her husband, daighter, sister, and parents.
